ABOUT THE OWNER


Dr. Vonetta Allen, CCC/SLP
Director of Therapy Operations


Dr. Vonetta Allen is a licensed medical speech-language pathologist (SLP) who holds the prestigious credentials Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC/SLP) issued by the American Speech Hearing and Language Association. She has twenty years of professional clinical experience habilitating and rehabilitating adult and pediatric populations. Her clinical background includes hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, public and private education sectors, home healthcare agencies, and currently private practice. She holds the following certifications: Lee Silverman Voice Training, Intellistim, Vital Stim, Modified Barium Swallow Study Consultant, as well as the Compton P-ESL Accent Modification Training.


Dr. Vonetta Allen is a proponent of evidence-based practice. In 2020, she earned a Doctorate of Speech-Language Pathology from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, UT. Dr. Allen conducted a single subject, A-B design research investigations. The single subject design was utilized to measure the effects of a parent training program in parents of young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Findings from this investigation supported a high frequency parent training program. Statistical and clinical significance were observed across all participants yielding a demonstrative effect. In 2002, she earned a Master of Education in Urban and Ethnic Communication Disorders from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. In 2000, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA.


Currently, she serves as the director of therapy operations for Premier Speech and Swallowing Solutions. In addition to her administrative roles, Dr. Allen serves on various local rehabilitation advocacy committees.
